Sourcing Our Kava | All our kava is grown on our own farm in Vanua Levu, Fiji. We have over 5,000 plants at any given time and farm in rich organic virgin soil. No chemicals or pesticides are used – ever. All our kava comes from our farms and we don’t source it from third parties, which gives us complete control on quality and age. |
Farm Trade & Sustainability | All our kava is sustainably grown and harvested without using chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Our farms are small, ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand plants, no more. Farms are made by clearing the small trees of the forest. The big trees that support the soil are left alone and used as shade, since kava grows better under shade. We constantly rotate our crops, ensuring that the roots never rot or degrade in quality due to over-farming. Some parts of our kava farms may sit dormant for several years, to regenerate the soil, preparing it for the conditions needed for our organic kava to flourish. Instead of using synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, we utilize crop rotation and field hiatus. Most importantly, we carry on the traditional farming methods handed down throughout generations, while incorporating the newest and safest organic farming methods. |
